Stan Millward Association

Lots of events happening in support of the association: raising funds for the "Association Stan Millward" to support those who live with and fight against cancer.

15th November: Take-away Dining with Reza

Reza returns with a selection of dishes - this time provided as a take-away. All profits are destined for the association, obviously. Please don't delay - numbers are limited and over 20 reservations had been placed within 12 hours of the menu being issued!

Here's the schedule
  • Tue 29th October: the menu of dishes on offer will be emailed to subscribers - it is already out
  • Thu 7th November: all orders and pre-payments should be made before this date
  • Come and collect your frozen take-away at the kitchen in Valence: 18:00-20:00 Fri 15th, 10:00-12:00 Sat 16th, 17:00-19:00 Sun 17th
Reza and Sharon have worked hard to design a mouth-watering menu and source the best, fresh ingredients. Each dish will be prepared and cooked by Reza himself, allowed to cool and then rapidly frozen. Your portions will be served in reusable containers (with a 1€ deposit on each) for collection whenever suits you (see times above - please indicate your collection day when sending payment so your order will be ready and waiting!).

Here is the menu (dishes do not include rice or breads) :
  1. Beef Koftas: lovely rich mix of spices 12€95
  2. Fish in Tomato & Coconut: subtly blended 11€65
  3. Cardamom Chicken: creamy & silky smooth 10€95
  4. Allo Baingun: 13 selected spices 10€10
  5. Tarka Dal: comfort food with a zing 9€70
Reza recommends allowing the food to defrost slowly to room temperature and then reheat in either a microwave or oven. They have also sourced some quality wines to go with their dishes - please ask when you place your order.

So when placing your order by phone or email, make sure you:
  • quote either the menu number or the dish name & the quantity you want
  • indicate when you expect to collect your princely feast
  • ask about their wine options

I guess there will be quite a few fabulous dinner parties throughout Charente this weekend, everyone toasting Reza - the Spice Prince of India!

And of course, if you were only a guest at someone else's dinner party in November, you can host your own this month with an entirely fresh menu selection; the same routine as before

  • from Tues 3rd December: come and collect your frozen feast at the kitchen in Valence: Tue 3rd: 9:30–12:30pm or 4pm–6pm, Wed 4th: 12pm–1pm or 4pm–6pm, Thurs 5th: 10am–12pm
Reza is flying off to Zimbabwe to headline their International Food Festival and afterwards to Australia to astound the Ozzies - all before Christmas, so this menu had to be brought forward...

  1. Lamb with peas, enriched with garlic, ginger, cinnamon, cumin seeds, fenugreek and more 12€55
  2. Succulent fillets of fish in a delicious Coriander Chutney 10€35
  3. Chicken Dhansak infused with a medley of 22 spices and herbs 11€25
  4. Coconut infused roasted Brussels Sprouts with tamari, mustard and fennel seeds 7€95
  5. Creamy Black lentils – hearty, warming and rich in flavour 8€15
  6. Caramelised Rice, with onion, cardamom and cinnamon 5€15
