Local Cinemas

As well as showing French Films, local cinemas quite often will show films in their original language; so there will usually be a few english language films shown somewhere each week.

In programmes, films may be designated as VO (version originale) as distinct from VF (version française i.e. dubbed in French), of course the original language might also be German or Chinese. If there is no designation it usually means it is a French language film, made in France. STF can be added to indicate the film has "French sub-titles" (sous titre française) or variations depending on the language.
The links above to cinema pages - and even those on allocine.fr - are frequently not current or incomplete. If you are interested in cinema-going, best sign-up for your nearest cinema's newsletter - if it has one - or look out for flyers in local shops.

Live Transmissions

Also for the more cultured among us, several cinemas present live or recorded transmissions from some of the worlds most iconic theatres:
Transmissions from the Bolshoï and the Met are more often available in cinemas in larger towns - check out their programs if you are interested: Loft Cinemas Châtellerault, Grand Ecran Ester Limoges.
Below is a list of the transmissions we know about for local cinemas.
